Hi there, glad you made it! Welcome to my new website. I began my journey of blogging nearly six years ago circa the year 2020; sharing my art, some humor, and many memories. Now as we near the end of 2025 I find it most fitting indeed to begin again. A new piece of the puzzle, or should I say that we are starting on a blank canvas if you will…or what not?

Do I need to mention the elephant in the room? I feel like I am writing a commencement address. Let’s get on with the art.
First Thanksgiving?

When we think of the first Thanksgiving, we probably imagine a big feast with the pilgrims and Indians at Plymouth Rock. But go back about 56 years to the year of 1565.
Land was spotted on what is now present day Florida by a Spanish fleet commanded by Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles. They had no trouble naming their settlement when they landed as it was the feast of Saint Augustine, so naturally they dubbed the town after the great Saint.
A few days later Father Grajales celebrated the first Catholic Mass of Thanksgiving in what is now America.
The settlers brought with them a deep devotion to Mary and in 1620 they built a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of La Leche, (La Lay Chay) or Our Lady of the Milk and Happy Delivery. Today it is the nation’s oldest Marian Shrine.

Watercolor Thoughts
I haven’t done too many watercolor paintings in my days, so this was very fun to see come together. It’s tricky to get the colors consistent as with anything wet, especially paint, it dries. And when watercolor paint dries water has to be added to continue mixing and painting. And when more water is mixed it turns a different shade. Not that that is bad…but you start to get the idea. Difficult to manipulate or control. But it was enjoyable enough I might try another watercolor painting.

Lyrics
Thank you!
Thank you so much 🙏 for sticking with me on this journey! Without your support and many comments of encouragement I would probably still be drawing stick figures 🤣 I’d love to hear your thoughts…drop them into the comments below. What did you find most interesting?
